My daughter started at Building Kidz Hillsborough 5 months back and there has never been a day when she asked not to go to school. She loves it! Staff are caring, flexible, accommodating and very receptive to children's needs. Empathy, integrity, warmth and respect are the core values I've come to associate with this school. Children experience a well-rounded development thanks to its unique curriculum. The facility is spacious, clean, well-kept and well stocked. My daughter finds great joy in learning new things. What more could be asked? Highly recommend.

This school is awesome and very educational. My granddaughter has been attending since July and a family member who is a teacher said 'Wow — Naomi is really articulating so much better.' This is all because of this amazing school. Please keep up the excellent teaching!

Pre-K FAQs

How is Pre-K different from Preschool?

Our Pre-K program is specifically designed for children entering kindergarten the following year. It builds on preschool foundations with a stronger emphasis on academic readiness — letter and sound recognition, number sense, name writing — alongside social maturity and executive function skills.

Every child leaves feeling confident, curious, and genuinely ready for kindergarten — not just academically, but emotionally. We focus on: academic readiness (literacy and math), social readiness (collaboration, routines, conflict resolution), and emotional readiness (self-regulation, resilience, a positive attitude toward learning).

Yes. Our STEAM-based curriculum is aligned with New Jersey’s early learning guidelines. But alignment with standards is the floor, not the ceiling — we always prioritize the whole child over any checklist.

Through both explicit and embedded activities: phonemic awareness (rhyming games, sound matching), print awareness (interactive read-aloud, environmental print hunts), pre-writing (name tracing and journaling), and comprehension (story retelling, predicting, connecting to personal experience).

A blend of structure and choice: morning meeting and social-emotional check-in, small-group literacy and math rotations, project-based STEAM exploration, outdoor time (30 minutes, twice daily), quiet reading and writing centers, afternoon enrichment (science, art, or drama), and a closing reflection circle.

We offer a daily quiet rest period after lunch. Children who no longer nap use the time for quiet reading, puzzles, or drawing — so everyone recharges in the way that suits them.

Yes. Drop off as early as 7:00 AM and pick up as late as 6:00 PM. We know your day doesn’t end when the school day does.
